Cautions about Late Locations

While some Finders are attracted to the idea of late locations (meaning Location 5 and beyond), and a number of religious and spiritual traditions have a “take it far as you can go no matter what” kind of attitude, there are very important considerations someone should be aware of before pursuing these locations.

To begin with, there is truly nothing in it for the “you” who is pursuing it. Everything that you now feels that you are as a self, goes. There is a reason why people who get here say they don’t feel human anymore. It all falls away. Once there, it genuinely feels like nothing has been gained and there is no one to gain anything from it. All there is subjectively is the “Universe”/”Reality” looking upon itself.

The whole process is incredibly demanding psychologically, and there are times when it feels like being on the razor’s edge of sanity, and like at any moment one could just go insane. It teaches one how fragile the psyche is, and there are people who do actually become highly psychologically unstable.

So it can be dangerous, and there’s no way of telling if someone will be one of the lucky ones, or one of the less lucky ones. This experience of the “razor’s edge” usually lasts hours, although it can be longer. No one beyond Location 8 or 9 gets to avoid this experience of the razor’s edge. There have been people at Location 7, who had not experienced it yet. Path of Humanity is safer, because it limits how far you can go in terms of locations in Fundamental Wellbeing.

So that’s the psychological side. The other side of the coin is the physiological side. Late locations can bring about sensory glitches, which tend to show up from Location 6 on and are related to the sense of self essentially being disentangled from very foundational levels of the nervous system that are responsible for sensory binding, motor functioning, and autonomic physiological processes. This can cause interference or interruptions with these basic processes, some of which are minor, but others of which can be life-threatening. We’re talking here about things as extreme as partial or full paralysis for a period of time, reduction or loss of vision, inability to speak, and related types of things on the extreme side.

In addition to these very real dangers, there are more reasons why transitioning to these locations is not to be taken lightly. For one, it is not something you can adjust to overnight, it can take a long-time and you might be very non-functional during that time. So unless you are ‘going to the cave’, this will likely disrupt your life, and there’s no easy way back.

It is very rare for a late location person to get back to earlier locations, but those who do make it tend to have a lot of difficulty getting there.  The gravity of late locations is enormous, and the way back is not readily accessible. There is a chasm between Location 4 and 5 and it pretty much feels like there’s no going back, though in reality it is just very difficult to do so. So you don’t want to go to a late location without serious consideration, and without someone around you at all times who is willing to support you through whatever happens.
